Weekend Of Relaxing

so last friday i got to hang with my friend Pinakidion and we had fun. we don not get to hang out ofter. after i left his place on friday night i got a call from another friend who wanted to know what i was up to. i said nothing, so he came over with 2 other friends. then i get the call. my daughter is locked out of her mothers place and she needs let in. so i have to go over and let her in. so my 3 friend and i load up and head over. while we are driving we decide to go to Village Inn and play spades, and have some food. it was great. one of the guys had never played before. so we had to teach him. he picked up very quickly, he is just that type of person. we played until about 1:30 in the morning. the rest of the weekend was good. i listened to an audio book. i think that i prefer to read then to listen. but i listened to Twilight. i was told by a co-worker that it was really good. it was not bad. it was different then most of the stuff that i read. i am really hoping that they do not screw up the movie. anyway the weekend was relaxing and what i needed. i do wish that i could have gotten a little more sleep on sunday afternoon before coming in to work. but i just could not sleep. i should sleep good when i get home in the morning.

Will Dance For Jelly Beans

i know weird title. however i think it is fitting. to explain, i have a magnetic bored on my cube wall. it is a doodle pro and it is about 3 X 5 inches. i like to write short comments on it for everyone to read. mostly i try to funny or profound. every once in a while one of my co-workers will comment about something i wrote, or they leave there own funny comments. last night when i walked in i found the 'will dance for jelly beans'. so i decided to leave it up. i liked it. the other day they put up 'do not bother the monkey behind the desk' this i also thought was funny. so here is the random post, enjoy

To The West Coast And Back Again

On Friday the 25^th of July I left Omaha to go to Sacramento. I was off to see my family. As it turned out we had recently found out that my grandfather is dying. As this is most likely that last time that I would be able to see him we planned a trip to Sequim, Washington, this is a 14 hour drive from Sacramento. Well my mother comes to the airport and picks me up, then we got to go to Jack-in-the-Box and I had an Ultimate Cheeseburger (most yummy and not in the Midwest). We then went to pick up my father and the luggage and head out for Washington. so after a 6 hour flight we embarked on a 14 hour drive, it was fun. We arrived in Sequim at 9:30 in the morning, all of us tired because none of us had slept much.

On this whirl wind trip I go to see my grandfather and 3 aunts, a cousin and several other of the family that I had never met. On Tuesday we drove back to Sacramento, stopping in Portland to see my Uncle and have lunch. The trip back was long, but shortly after get there my brother showed up and we stayed up until about 2:30 am talking. We did a lot of just hanging out and talking about anime and music and stuff that the both of us really like. We also made a trip out to see our sister at work one night, this turned into an adventure. My brother had had work done on his truck and while we were driving the truck stalled and would not start. After about 5 minutes the truck started but by then we had gained the attention of the police. So we got pulled over, they wanted to know what was going on and where we had been coming from and where we were going. They let up go on our way, but it was fun.

On Friday we went to see The Dark Knight. This was the second time for me to see it, however it was a first for my sister and her husband and my son. Then we all went to go and get food at hooters, this was my first time to be there and I was not impressed with the food, and did not care for the atmosphere.

On Saturday my son and I flew back to Omaha and my brother drove back to Phoenix. Getting in to Omaha about midnight and finally getting home about one.

I did get to go to Chick-Fil-A While I was there. Only once though, it was as good as ever. I also go to have lefsa in Washington and then took some back to Sacramento. For those of you that do not know what lefsa is, it is a Norwegian dessert. It is flat bread that is made from potatoes. It is a heritage thing. While I was in Washington I went to a town called Poulsbo, which is a small town most Scandinavian. There I bought a couple of t-shirts that have Norwegian saying on them. All in all the trip was fun but a little long and tiring.
